Bookstore Privacy Notice

Effective from: 2026-10-24

Updated: 2026-10-25

This notice covers the Parle bookstore pages, free samples, book orders and related support. Parle Books is the publishing brand. Send bookstore privacy requests to support@getparle.app.

Operator and privacy contact

Dong Ting (China) operates the Parle Books bookstore and is responsible for the bookstore’s processing of personal data. “Parle” in these bookstore policies refers to Parle Books. Contact: support@getparle.app.

These policies cover Parle Books. The Parle app is operated by Tingnova Inc. and has separate App terms and privacy information.

Browsing and free samples

Reading bookstore pages or downloading the free PDF sample does not require a Parle account or an email signup. Our Cloudflare-hosted site may process network/request information needed to deliver and protect pages, such as IP address and request information.

An existing site-wide Cloudflare measurement beacon may also run on book pages and report page/performance measurements. These book pages do not add new book-specific tracking, advertising pixels or newsletter forms.

When you buy a book

Payhip or Gumroad collects buyer, billing, payment and order information at its checkout under its own privacy notice. It may share necessary buyer/order information with Parle Books for the product and support. Enter payment details only in the checkout provider’s payment fields.

Lulu handles its own checkout and order information under its privacy notice. Parle uses information you send to support and necessary order information actually provided by a platform.

Leanpub handles its own checkout and order information under its privacy notice. Parle processes information it actually receives for support under this bookstore notice.

Information Parle uses for orders and support

Parle may receive your name, email, country, order reference, purchased edition and transaction status or amount from the order provider. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, date and any information or attachments you choose to send.

We use relevant details to identify the order, provide access to the purchased files, answer your request, investigate a delivery or product issue and handle necessary records. Please send only what is needed. Never email full card numbers, passwords or one-time security codes.

Purposes and legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, necessary order/support processing relates to performing the order contract or responding to a request before purchase; required records relate to legal obligations; proportionate security and misuse prevention relate to legitimate interests. We seek consent where required for optional processing.

Providers and external stores

Relevant information passes through the checkout, hosting and email services needed for the purposes above. Parle and the checkout provider have responsibilities for the information each handles; the provider’s own notice also applies.

A Payhip or Gumroad purchase uses that platform’s checkout and privacy practices. Read its notice before ordering. Its order information may be made available to Parle for fulfilment and support. These external checkouts may use their own cookies and similar technologies.

A Lulu purchase uses Lulu’s own checkout and privacy practices. Read its notice before providing information. Parle processes information it actually receives for support under this bookstore notice.

Leanpub handles its own checkout and order information under its privacy notice. Parle processes information it actually receives for support under this bookstore notice.

Cookies, preferences and emails

The wider domain and third-party checkouts may use cookies or measurement tools. Browser controls may affect some client-side features; they do not stop the request information needed to route or secure a connection. Any preference applies only to the processing it actually describes.

A sample download or book order does not subscribe you to Parle newsletters or abandoned-cart marketing. The bookstore does not add these campaigns. Order confirmations, file-access information and replies to requested support are transactional messages. The checkout provider’s communications are governed by its own notice and settings.

How long information is kept

Parle keeps order and support information only as needed to fulfil orders, address requests, meet applicable record-keeping duties and deal with relevant disputes or security issues. Retention depends on the information, its purpose and applicable obligations, rather than a single fixed period for all data. Providers follow their own retention rules. A deletion request may not remove records that must lawfully be retained.

Processing locations

Hosting, checkout and email services may process information outside your country. Their notices describe their processing and transfer arrangements. Contact Parle for information about the bookstore’s use of these services; do not assume that all data stays in one country.

Your requests and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority. Contact support@getparle.app; we may need proportionate information to verify the request. For information controlled by a checkout provider, its privacy contact may also be relevant.

Scope and updates

The Parle app has separate privacy information. Published changes to this bookstore notice will carry a date. If you have a question about the handling of your order or message, email support@getparle.app.
