Watch and practiseHear the difference between the two reference nasal vowels.
Watch and practiseChoose a single conversation task or sound contrast rather than playing the whole collection at once. Watch the French model before speaking. During a silent gap, say the line or vowel aloud; pause the player if you need more time. For a listening question, choose your answer before it appears. Then replay the difficult part and try the matching website practice without copying the response.
For First Contact, start with hello and goodbye, continue to your first name, then practise asking someone to repeat. Finish with the short conversation review. For the sound lessons, start with a contrast you confuse, such as u and ou. Use the matching six-question vowel round to check listening choices, and return to the physical cue when an answer surprises you.
The original reference audio is synthesized. Vowel videos use isolated sounds; their displayed word examples are not full-word recordings. Conversation videos use full phrase models and identify separate sound clips. The Y / ILL lesson includes a complete word and sentence alongside written spelling examples. Each video states its audio scope. English captions and the lesson text support reading while you listen.
Every video and the matching website practice here is free. No purchase is needed to watch, read the lesson text or use the linked exercises. In Parle for iPhone and iPad, all 35 Sounds pages and the first 4 First Contact Course missions are free. The full 120-mission App course requires Premium. Video listening choices do not record your voice or assess your accent; the App’s Phrase Match reports detected words rather than an accent or pronunciation score.
